Finlandia-trail

reittikartta

Finlandia-trail is the longest (almost 1900 km) Finnish hiking route going from the southern coast of Finland to the northernmost point of Finland. It is also the most eastern hiking route in European union as it goes very close to the Finnish-Russia-border. Trail combines existing trails like UKK-trail, Salpapolku, Kolinpolku, Rajojen reitti and Oravantaival with other paths and roads. Route is based on a plan and result of Finland end-to-end hike in 2021.

This is an Unofficial route on public and private land using Everyman's Right. In places, the route is the same as Finland's part of the E10 long-distance hiking route. E10 is not officially maintained or supported in Finland. Finlandia-trail is a better version of E10.

A gps trace of the route is available in gpx format, the entire route + route services on the map, just the route on the map and an exact route description (coming soon). In addition, it is worth checking out the still unfinished map trip report of the summer 2021 Finland end-to-end hike, where you can see what Finland is like in any part of the route with the help of pictures, videos and audio recordings placed on the map. You can also read a verbal story with daily stats and equipment comments. A good source is the route plan for the Finland end-to-end hike, where you can currently find the best description of the route. The audio diary is also worth listening to.

Some parts of Finlandia-trail are very tough because of difficult terrain and bad or almost non-existent paths. Some parts are very easy and well maintained. You will need a gps track to follow the route.

The Finlandia hiking trail is constantly being developed and improved. If you have suggestions for corrections, such as a better route suggestion for a section, you can send suggestions by e-mail to hazor@iki.fi. Precise GPS tracks are especially desirable.
